Any girl who has been at the gym lately knows what a chore it can be to find cute work out clothes.

Lately the ones that I’ve had my eye on for the summer are the Orioles yoga pants at Victoria’s Secret, from their line of MLB shirts, pants, hoodies (which are super cute by the way). Rep them at the gym or at the game; they have an adorable shirt to match that says “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”; super adorable.

I’m so picky when it comes to work out clothes, and maybe men have this problem too I’m not so sure, but why do you want to just wear boring sweatpants to the gym anyways! There have been runway shows, dedicated JUST for work out wear, and they are so cute and breathable, why NOT look cute while you’re working out?

To me, the gym isn’t really social hour, but to some it may be, but I feel like if I look my best, then I can work out and feel good about it. (And of course look cute if I’m going straight from the gym to some where else)

There are always a couple of things that you should keep in your gym bag at all times:

  • A light fresh spray
I have Dove, which I love because its a fresh scent that isn’t too overbearing that people can tolerate and you don’t smell like after-gym
  • Face wipes
These are probably most important if you’re going out right after the gym, or protecting your skin from after-gym acne. I have a Garnier Fructis one that smells like apples that won’t over dry your skin, just wipe off all the grime and leave your face beautiful and bright.
  • Flip flops
I cannot count how many times flip flops have saved my feet after a strenous workout, my feet are killing me! Of course, in the winter time you can’t wear flip flops, but spring and summer, life savers! There’s no better feeling after a work out than taking off those tennis shoes and letting your feet breathe.
  • Water or another drink
I read an article that said for every 10 minutes you work out you should consume 8oz of water to make up for the water that you’re losing. If you’re working out without water or another drink such as gatorade, you’re going to be regreting it later when you’re done the work out and you feel like passing out.
  • An extra shirt
I know its gross to think about women sweating, but sadly it happens. Always keep an extra shirt handy, just in case something happens to your other one or you just feel like changing!

And the best part about keeping all that stuff in your gym bag is that you get to pick out a really cute one! Me being the purse fanatic that I am, couldn’t have been more happy when I got a bright pink and purple gym bag at Dicks. I started carrying it around everywhere, getting compliments on it.

Like I said, when you feel good about working out, you want to do more at the gym.

What motivates you to push yourself at the gym? Is it that satisfaction of proving someone wrong? Is it the vacation you’re going on in a month that you want to look superb for? As long as you have some kind of goal in mind, you cannot, and will not fail.
